I spent five years in the U. S. Army as a broadcast journalist and public affairs professional.

American Forces Network Kaiserslautern-worked actively in every stage of completing both a daily TV and radio newscast for a military community of 40,000 people: Found stories through research, shot A and B-roll, wrote script, narrated, edited, anchored and produced final product. Completed more than 417 radio stories, 214 TV stories, and anchored 56 newscasts. Also, often chose to work 16 hour days to become proficient as radio hostess of the four-hour afternoon drive-time show.

22nd Mobile Public Affairs Detachment; Ft. Bragg, NC- organized and inventoried broadcast equipment, escorted media, and wrote and produced television and radio news stories during six-month deployment to Kosovo, fielded phone calls from and escorted media following the 9/11 attacks, wrote stories and took photos for the post newspaper.

SKILLS:

Effective oral and written communicator; type 72 words per minute; computer knowledge, including Internet, Microsoft Word, Works, Outlook as well as Macintosh, Avid digital editing software, Cool Edit Pro and SADIE audio editing software, and TelePrompTer; able to work independently or in a group; proficient at remaining calm under pressure of looming deadlines.
